In Ephesians 1, the apostle Paul shares with the Ephesian church that he is praying they might know the immeasurable greatness of God’s power toward those who believe. He is thinking specifically of Resurrection and Ascension power in being united by faith to Christ the Head, who has been given to the Church–His Body.
I think most understand there is nothing God cannot do. But when we belong to God in Christ Jesus, I think it is especially encouraging to remember there is nothing OUR God cannot do. But I think St. Paul is moving the Ephesian Christians and us, as well, to be able to know the power of God within us. May we be amazed to discover as the apostle reminds us in another place that there is nothing WE cannot do through Christ who gives us strength!
May the Lord, who has ascended to the heavenly throne above all creation, give you confidence to seek and achieve God’s will. And may you and I walk boldly as His witnesses. The supreme power and authority Jesus wields over heaven and earth He grants to His disciples!
